About Ikat
Ikat or Ikkat is a resist dyeing technique where yarn is dyed first, and pattern is made at the time of dyeing followed by weaving at the end which makes this fabric so unique. It is being made by artisans in small towns and villages, hundreds of kilometres away from the city. The inconsistencies in the colour and pattern proves that it is an Authentic Pure Handloom Ikat Woven Fabric.
Purpose
This quality of ikat is mostly used for dress materials such as Kurtas, Shirts, Tops, Dresses, etc.
Washing Instructions
Before getting the fabric stitched, soak it in water to adjust the one-time shrinkage which is very minimal but helps in getting the right fit after stitching. The best way to wash ikats is to hand wash them separately in cold water with a mild detergent.
